I became an attorney in 2018 after graduating from Arizona Summit Law School in December 2017 and passing the Arizona Bar Exam on my first attempt in February 2018. In May 2018, I was admitted to the Arizona State Bar.
For nearly seven years, I have practiced primarily in the area of Family Law, with about ten years of experience in the legal industry.
Throughout my career, I have handled all aspects of family law litigation, including divorce (with and without children), legal separation, child custody, parenting time, spousal maintenance, property division, and settlement negotiations. I also have experience in Order of Protection and Injunctions against Harassment cases, as well as Restoration of Civil Rights.
I believe in full transparency—I expect my clients to be completely honest with me because that honesty allows me to build the strongest possible case. The truth always comes out, and my job is to be fully prepared to defend and advocate for you. My approach is simple: I will always tell you the truth, and I expect the same in return.
I was born and raised in a small town in central North Carolina, right in the heart of the legendary UNC-Duke Atlantic Coast Conference rivalry—so yes, I am a huge March Madness fan! Go Duke Blue Devils!
Growing up in a small town, job opportunities were limited. Most people found work in one of the many hosiery mills or at the major laboratory corporation headquartered in town. However, before I even graduated high school, many of the mills had shut down, moving production overseas. Realizing the uncertainty of local job prospects, I made the decision to join the military.
I proudly served in the United States Navy during Operation Enduring Freedom as an aviation mechanic with VF-101 ("Grim Reapers"), working on the legendary F-14 "Tomcat" fighter jet.
After my honorable discharge, I moved to Arizona in 2005 and pursued my education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice (with a minor in Sociology) from Northern Arizona University. From there, I set my sights on law school.
During law school, I worked as a law clerk at a boutique firm. After passing the Arizona Bar Exam, I was hired as an attorney at that same firm, where I practiced for nearly three years. Looking to expand my experience, I transitioned to another firm for almost two years. However, I soon realized that the traditional approach to practicing law wasn’t for me.
So in June 2023, I founded That Lawyer Guy—a firm built on client relationships, transparency, and real results.
My goal is simple: When someone asks you for a family law attorney, I want you to confidently say, "Call my guy—That Lawyer Guy. He's the one I trust."
When I’m not fighting for my clients, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and four amazing children, golfing, traveling, exploring Arizona, playing video games, and cheering for the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team. I’ve also started dabbling in vlogging and hope to launch a YouTube channel discussing legal topics in the future.
